看文献的时候看到一个不确定该怎么翻译：central and peripheral applanation tonometry
原句：central and peripheral applanation tonometry were used to assess the changes in structural and functional arterial indices.
查词典说applanation tonometry是压平眼压计或者压平眼压计测量法的意思，那前面的central and peripheral是指视网膜中央和外周的意思吗？另外还有后面是说用来判断血管功能和结构的改变，测眼压的能用来做这个吗？？
