【求助】怎么准备Elsevier在线投稿文档？

我是一个新手，用word写稿子，准备用Elsevier在线投稿系统投稿，但是看网站上的Preparation of the manuscript，有些细节却没有搞明白，想向各位高手请教，谢谢！
1,说明中提到，“All illustrations should accompany the typescript, but not be inserted in the text." 是不是说，文章中的文字和图片应该分开？图片应该单独上传？
2，说明中还有，"photographs....should have the author's name, bthe figure number and an indication as to which is the top of the picture." 这里让我很迷惑，如果是图片单独上传，那么，怎么把这些说明加进去呢？是在文章中加吗？
3，对于文章的排版，说明中只提到"Script should be typed doulbe-spaced on one side of the paper only", "doulbe-spaced"是指双倍行距吗？说明中也没有提到用几号字体，如何排版，是按照最终期刊上的格式排版吗？还是按照一般的编辑方式，最后由编辑排版？
以上的疑问，我看了很多遍说明也没有明白，心里很着急，希望用过在线投稿的高手能多多指教！
