【求助】Pharmacological Research的cover letter是什么意思

想投Pharmacological Research，不过对上面的cover letter不怎么理解，请前辈指点：
Submission items include a cover letter (Authors are highly encouraged to include a list of 5-6 potential reviewers for their manuscript, with complete contact information), the manuscript (including title page, abstract, manuscript text, references, and table/figure legends), tables, and figures.
后面又这样写：The manuscript must be accompanied by a covering letter detailing what you are submitting (type of contribution, title, authors' names and affiliation, etc.).
那个cover letter应该包括哪些内容呢，请前辈指点。
