A postdoctoral fellowship is available for asparagus research in Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China. The fellowship is a full-time commitment for two years. The fellow will work with Prof. CHEN Guangyu, the Chief Scientist of China National Asparagus R&D System.
Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences is located in Nanchang, the capital city of Jiangxi Province in southern China. It is a leading organization in asparagus research in China. Since asparagus is a high value crop as well as a model crop, we are currently conducting a national research program on asparagus covering asparagus genome, germplasm resources, breeding, cultivation, plant protection, processing and medical function and so on. Prof. CHEN Guangyu is the leader of International Collaboration (China-USA-Italy) on Asparagus Genome Project, and the Chairman for 13th International Asparagus Symposium in 2013.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in a field such as plant genetics, plant breeding, or molecular biology. Responsibilities for the fellow are (i) to commit to excellence in research related to asparagus, and (ii) to collaborate with other staff members in the lab and the system with contribution to good working environment.
Preference will be given to candidate with experience in plant biotechnology with one or more of the following techniques: plant cell culture, molecular techniques and bioinformatics and so on.
Stipend: 5,000 RMB per month plus free accommodation. Travel allowances for national conferences will also be available.
