VOA：志愿者们“**”祖父母

These volunteers in La Paz Bolivia are on their way to visit newly adopted grandparents. It's part of an effort to look after older people of limited means during the pandemic.

Many of the seniors don't have relatives nearby who can help, so volunteers stepped in to fill the gap.

They bring food to people like this 93-year-old woman and her 85-year-old husband. And to this woman who lost her home in a mudslide and now lives in a tent in the woods.

The volunteers wear protective gear to help curb the spread of Covid 19. Some of the elderly qualify for government aid,

but they lacked the proper identification needed to clean food packages. This is a big help because there are a lot of people who don't have these.
