Postdoc Position in Bioinformatics
One postdoctoral fellow position is available for motivated candidates in Wang lab at the University of North Dakota. The successful applicant will be expected to develop bioinformatics, statistics, and machine learning methods to interpret multi-omics datasets and to explore molecular mechanisms of complex diseases (e.g. Alcohol consumption and Alzheimer’s disease).
The Wang lab works on developing bioinformatics tools for omics data and applying systems genetics approaches to unbiased identification of central disease gene/protein networks, functional modules, and master regulators. The PI has a very good publication record, and more information can be found on Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=eM3dr7gAAAAJ&hl=en) and on the website (https://www.stjude.org/directory/w/xusheng-wang.html).
The candidate shall have a Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, statistics, computer science, or a related field. The candidate is expected to design algorithms and develop computational tools. Prior expertise in omics technologies is not required. The candidate must demonstrate excellent experience in programming in languages such as R, Perl, or Python. Please submit CV to Dr. Xusheng Wang (xusheng.wang@und.edu or xusheng.wang@stjude.org).
