The overall structure of cyto-EpsL and its putative dimer:
A, the three domains as stereo figure. Domain I(blue) and domain III (red) have a similar topology and consist each of a mixed five-stranded b-sheet and three or one additional helices. Domain II (yellow) is inserted into the sequence of domain I and consists of a three-stranded b-sheet and numerous loops. Helices 3101 and 3102 (orange) define the borders between domain I and II and domain I and III, respectively.
B, The crystallographic dimer shown in similar domain colours as in (A) might correspond to the native dimer. The dimer interface, transmembrane helices (green dots) and the putative EpsE-binding region are indicated.
