The Berlin School of Integrative Oncology (BSIO) is currently accepting applications for Fully-funded doctoral positions (PhD track or MD track).

The Berlin School of Integrative Oncology (BSIO) is a joint graduate school of the Charité University Hospital, Humboldt University, Free University and several non-university research institutions in Berlin and was founded within the Excellence Initiative of the German federal state and governments. The BSIO is fully dedicated to cancer research in an international context and aims at elucidating the individual molecular tumor and patient characteristics via advanced experimental cancer models and novel cancer diagnostics. It is our central mission to introduce young natural scientists to the most demanding problems in clinical oncology and, in turn, to stimulate young research-interested clinicians to translate unsolved clinical challenges into experimentally approachable questions, ultimately leading to their mechanistic explanation.

We offer a structured 3-year doctoral program jointly educating talented life scientistsand physicians/medical students in the field of Integrative Oncology. Successful applicants will be offered doctoral positions in research groups of our BSIO faculty and will work on cutting edge research projects in the areas of:

l Tumor immunology

l Cancer biology

l Bioinformatics

l Public Health

Who can apply?

We are looking for excellent candidates with a Master’s degree in Life science/Bioinformatics or excellent medical students/graduates. You will need a strong academic background and an exceptional motivation for cancer research.
