Entropion is a condition where the eyelid margin rolls inwards and the eyelashes rub against the surface of the eye. Senile (Age-Related) Entropion occurs because of detachment / dis-insertion of the lower lid retractors and the over-riding of the pre-septal orbicularis over the pre-tarsal part. This can be corrected in many ways - the preferred technique shown here is the Jones procedure. With the help of radio-frequency cautery, the surgery is relatively bloodless.
