潘星华教授在复旦大学、协和医科大学及耶鲁大学学习和研究遗传学、基因组学、分子肿瘤学和发育，之后耶鲁大学遗传系工作12年，任研究员PI；作为首批从事单细胞组学技术创新的专家，创建了一系列单细胞测序技术，并获得广泛应用。以高层次人才身份引进到南方医科大学基础医学院后，担任基因工程研究所/生化和分子生物学教研室(系)主任， 并建立了广东省单细胞技术与应用重点实验室，任主任。研究方向为单细胞测序技术创新及其在癌症、发育、生殖和遗传及表观遗传等研究领域的应用，课题获得国家自然科学基金、科技部重大专项基金、广东省重大基础培育项目、广东省珠江领军人才本土创新团队、广东省重点实验室基金、广东省产科重点疾病重点实验室开放基金及南方医科大学高层次人才启动经费等支持。他还兼任广东生化学会副理事长、全国侨联特聘专家委员会委员、美国耶鲁大学医学院遗传学系顾问、全美中国旅美科技协会总会(CAST-USA) 2018年会长等。见：http://portal.smu.edu.cn/jcyxy/ “生化教研室”。

研究领域和学术要求补充要点如下：

（1）必须具有生物信息学、或分子生物学、基因组学、细胞生物学、癌症、干细胞、生殖、发育等相关专业博士学位，能够相对独立地开展科研工作。

（2）具有扎实的生信专业基础知识与熟练的生信分析操作技能力，有单细胞生物学、二代测序数据分析（针对转录组、CNV、基因组甲基化、染色质构像分析）相关科研背景；有较好的英文和中文科技写作能力优先。

（3）身体、精神健康，具有旺盛的求知和研究兴趣，具有团队合作精神。

（4）研究经费有导师提供。博士后本人可以申请各类研究经费或人才奖励经费，如国家自然科学基金、中国博士后科学基金、出国留学基金、广东省珠江人才计划海外青年人才引进计划(博士后资助项目，最高可获100万元补贴)等。基金奖励和论文奖励全额发给博士后本人。

（5）根据需要和成绩，博士后可连续2期，每期2年；进站1年后可申请副高职称，2年后可申请正高职称；博士后期间有外派美国名校合作研究的机会；出站合格者优先留校。

Three Positions of Postdoctoral Fellow for Dr. Xinghua (Victor) Pan’s Laboratory at SMU, the Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China

Dr. Xinghua Pan’s laboratory has 3 positions available for postdoctoral fellow. The laboratory specifically seeks those who have solid research background in molecular biology or the biological systems for the application, and interest in single-cell technology and application, including bioinformatics and biophotonics such as seqFISH or smFISH, and especially those who have solid expertise in embryology, genomics, genomic medicine, developmental biology, stem cell research, immunology, neurobiology, cellular biology, molecular oncology, or other related fields. The positional position is 2-year period and extendable up to 4-year period. Qualified postdoctoral is welcome to stay in the department on a faculty position including professor or associate professor.

The laboratory welcomes anyone who would bring additional dimensions to its research. Candidates must have a Ph.D. Prior evidence of creativity, productivity, and the ability to interact within a team is required.

The Department and the Key Laboratory specifically seek those who have outstanding research experience and interest in single-cell technology and the related biological systems that single-cell technology may contribute and bring a substantial progress, including but not limited to those who have outstanding expertise in genomics, genomic medicine, embryology, developmental biology, stem cell research, embryo development, immunology, neurosciences, molecular oncology, particularly bioinformatics (for genomics data and transcriptomics data). We welcome applicants in any other promising fields of molecular or cellular biology or other life science field that have a great potential in terms of theoretical breakthrough or medical significance in the near future. We very welcome those who would bring additional dimensions to its research, teaching and clinical missions.

The successful applicant's research program will be housed in the Life Science Building, which provides an excellent collaborative environment for investigation, with a number of outstanding scientists who have obtained international recognized achievements (tens of papers with IF>10 are published every year, including papers on CNS journals). The university will support with competitive start-up funding, laboratory space, assistants and students financially supported separately by the university. This building also contains SMU Core Facilities with key enabling technologies and very advanced equipments, and other departments and laboratories of SMU School of Basic Medical Sciences.
