The laboratory of Professor Joong Sup SHIM is seeking a PhD candidate to perform research in cancer research and precision medicine.
The Prof. Shim’s laboratory studies on a wide variety of cancer with tumor suppressor mutations to discover novel precision cancer targets. The appointed student will be given an independent project about “Exploiting synthetic lethality genetic interaction for the discovery of precision cancer targets”. He/she will be given the opportunity to master state-of-the-art techniques in cancer and biomedical sciences.
Applicants must hold a bachelor or master degree in relevant areas of biomedical sciences. Previous experience in cell biology and molecular biology experiments with decent publication record will be of advantage. Highly motivated and hard-working student candidates are highly preferable.

Tuition Fee and Post-graduate Assistantship
The current Tuition Fee Scheme is credit-based. All full-time PhD students in the Faculty receive post-graduate assistantship of MOP12,500/month, and will be increased to MOP14,000/month after passing the qualifying examination and thesis proposal assessment, subject to the “Funding Policy for PhD and Master Students” of the University.
